OBLIGATORY “DEAD WEEK” BLURB.
Seat secured in the only comfy dining room chair? Check.
Headphones to block out annoying housemates? Check.
Sufficiently burrito-ed in a fuzzy blanket? Check
French press at the ready? Check.
Quesadilla, strawberries and almond butter, and hummus ready? Check.
General feelings of dread for the morning? Double check.
Snacking my nerves away for this interview. Hopefully my interviewer likes hummus breath.
february is “apply for internships” season and march is “leave your gmail inbox open in another tab 24/7 and have a conniption every time you get a new message because what if it’s good news” season
This sounds painfully familiar.
Marina Abramovic meets Ulay
“Marina Abramovic and Ulay started an intense love story in the 70s, performing art out of the van they lived in. When they felt the relationship had run its course, they decided to walk the Great Wall of China, each from one end, meeting for one last big hug in the middle and never seeing each other again. at her 2010 MoMa retrospective Marina performed ‘The Artist Is Present’ as part of the show, a minute of silence with each stranger who sat in front of her. Ulay arrived without her knowing it and this is what happened.”
This has to be one of her most honest works. Rhythm 0 and Rest Energy are phenomenal as well.
ternura intensa, y tristeza
This. is striking.
I never really “got” performance art, but this is incredibly beautiful.

“He can’t win. That’s because our masked bandit is a coward. Yeah. He never took an oath, he’s a fake. He’s a liar and a coward.“

So I just applied to be a summer intern at The Seattle Times.
Here come the nerves and (misplaced) paranoid feelings that everything I sent is rife with typos.
Fingers crossed.
APPLICATIONS
One might think that with all the blogging and social media-ing I do, I might be at least somewhat good at talking about myself.
Ha.
