“ABOUT ME”

I dislike filling-in “about me” sections.

Weirdly enough, I have to write a ton of them because multimedia journalism is very self-branding-centric. Thus, I have a blurb on my Twitter, Tumblr, Instagram, Facebook, Linked-In, and whatever other things I have and will have created for self-promotion purposes.

Currently, I am trying to work on the whole having a personal (professional) website thing (as many of you know I have bitching about). First of all, WordPress is complicated for me. It has been explained to me a few times and I am still trying to figure out how to manage widgets and pages while just wanting to make my website PRETTY, damn it.

Logically, I know what I need to say in order to present myself as a professional individual. However, I then begin to worry about appearing too mechanical or if I aim to be a bit “quirky,” that I might appear to be too young and therefore, immature.

I just want to be memorable…and get a job.
